Do you need to have your Apple device diagnosed before you buy it?

Generally speaking, no. Our practice shows that a fair number of advertisements on popular notice boards are fraudulent.  

From our experience, the following problems can be highlighted:

• Some parts of the device do not function as they should. The modern smartphone and laptop are complex technical devices. It is very difficult for a non-professional to check them, even on a software level, while sitting in a café and having very limited time;
• Often «drowned» smartphones are sold. Such cases are very difficult to catch without opening the device. A «drowned» device that has not been properly serviced can break down at almost any time. If the motherboard fails (which is not uncommon in non-dry «drowned» devices) the cost of repair can reach up to 80 % of the cost of the device;
• It is not uncommon for a seller to conceal from a buyer the fact that a device has been repaired. A common case is that non-original components were installed in the smartphone, but it is not declared at the time of sale;
• Alas, it sometimes happens that people try to sell our customers stolen phones. We are sure that no one would want to own such an iPhone.

The answer is simple: entrust the diagnosis of the device to professionals. There are some things that cannot be checked by sitting in a café and having a very limited amount of time.

We offer:

• Diagnostics without opening the device;
• Diagnostics with opening the device.

Diagnostics without disassembling the device is carried out using a special software package. This gives a preliminary indication of the condition of the device and whether it has been stolen.

Diagnostics with disassembling can reliably determine if the device has been previously repaired, if non-original spare parts have been used and if the device has been flooded with water.

Wherever possible, we recommend disassembling as the most reliable method.

Honest sellers who do not cheat their customers benefit solely from working with us. They are interested in receiving independent confirmation of the quality of their goods from a disinterested party.

We do not in any way interfere with anyone else’s legal and transparent business. However, the large number of enquiries from people confronted with unscrupulous sellers has motivated us to highlight the problem and propose a solution.

Try to explain to him that the diagnosis will not harm his smartphone (laptop, tablet) in any way. An honest seller has nothing to lose by this procedure. If you wish, the details can be explained to him or her by our manager.
